Awareness Week 2012
Sunday, September 16 – Sunday, September 23. Join us as we raise awareness for
AHHS and the animals we care for on a daily basis. A variety of events will be held around town.
Sunday, September 16th. “Creating a Humane Community” Appreciation Day. 12-4 p.m. at AHHS Pole Barn and Parking Lot.
Join us for our Awareness Week Kick-Off Event where you will have the chance to meet and
learn more about many other service organizations in the community that are helping to create
a Humane Community for people and animals.
Monday, September 17th. Ivy Tech Adopt-a-Thon. Visit with adoptable pets from Almost Home on Monday September 17 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Ivy Tech's Lafayette campus. Our adoption RV will be at Ivy Tech to raise student awareness about homeless pets and hopefully find a few forever homes as well.
Tuesday, September 18th. Accessorize to Save Lives Jewelry Party. 7 p.m. at AHHS.
Premier Designs Jewelry will be showcased and available for purchase to benefit AHHS.
Wednesay, September 19th. Dine at Puccini’s Day/Night. All-day dine at Puccini’s. Mention AHHS and/or present a flyer about the event and a portion of your check will be donated to AHHS.
Thursday, September 20th. Do you enjoy wine and gourmet food? Our annual wine dinner catered by Sovereign Catering will be held at the Lahr Atrium on September 20.
Beginning at 6:30, guests will enjoy multiple courses of gourmet food paired with a wine. The cost is $30 per person and RSVP's are due by September 17. To RSVP please contact michelle@almosthomehumane.org or stacy@almosthomehumane.org.

Saturday, September 22nd. Christy Marks of McGreevy Marks Photography will be at Almost Home to create fantastic memories for your family. Photo sessions are $25 and can include any combination of your human and furry family members. AHHS will be scheduling appointments every 15 minutes between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity to create beautiful, lasting memories and also benefit the homeless pets of AHHS.
Sunday, September 23rd. AHHS will host a low-cost vaccine and microchip clinic from 12-4. For only $30 your pet may receive vaccinations and an exam by a local veterinarian. Almost Home will also be offering $10 microchips. This fee includes registration of your microchip and is a great, inexpensive way to ensure that your pet has a permanent form of identification. Microchips are the most effective way to guarantee that your lost pet will be returned to you if lost.
