Donate Now

Thank you for considering a donation to the Almost Home Humane Society!  Your financial gift can help AHHS achieve its mission.

When you donate to Almost Home,

  • You are helping Almost Home care for the more than 2,000 pets that we receive each year.
  • Help us provide emergency medical care for those pets that arrive at Almost Home sick or injured.
  • Provide funds to help us continue our low-cost Spay Neuter Assistance Program.
  • Most of all you help AHHS save lives.

Types of donations:

Memorials/Honorariums

A donation made in memory or in honor of a beloved pet, family member, friend, a friend or family member’s beloved pet, etc. is a thoughtful tribute for your loved one and also helps the thousands of animals we care for each year. Memorials and honorariums can be made in any amount you choose. Acknowledgment letters will be sent to the family of the person or pet being remembered or honored (if an address is included); the gift amount will not be disclosed. Acknowledgment letters that can be used for tax purposes are sent to the donor and include the gift amount.

We appreciate the fact that helping the homeless and unwanted animals in our care is/was important to your loved one and you. Your commitment to helping the animals in our community that need us the most is greatly appreciated.

Planned Giving Opportunities

Planned giving provides a number of opportunities that allow a supporter’s kindness and commitment to the homeless animals at AHHS to continue for years to come. You can have an impact on the animals here today as well as those who will arrive at the shelter in the future. This type of giving may also help you achieve specific financial goals. Your attorney can guide you in selecting an estate gift that will maximize your tax benefits and may even be able to provide you with income during your lifetime. *Please consult your financial advisor and attorney about which planned giving opportunities are right for you. The animals at AHHS greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness and continued care.

Special Programs

Injured Animal Fund

Many pets arrive at Almost Home in need of emergency medical care.  Thanks to a partnership with the Purdue Small Animal Clinic those pets are able to receive treatment.  While some pets are in need of a simple fix like basic medication, others require more complicated surgeries and treatment.  Your donations can help Almost Home treat these pets in need.  This fund is also supported annually by Strike Out Suffering.

SNAP (Spay Neuter Assistance Program)

SNAP provides spay and neuter surgery for the pets of low-income families.  This service is a vital part of our mission and helps decrease the local pet overpopulation problem.  Your donation to SNAP can ensure that a local family is able to alter their pet at a reduced fee.

  • In October 2012 I adopted a lab mix puppy named Mel and just want to send some pictures and let you all  know how she/s doing.

I renamed her Isabelle, Izzy for short, and she gets bigger everyday.  She is the definition of a lap dog and she loves to cuddle.  Within the first few weeks of having her she already learned to sit and shake!  Her first night with me she slept in her kennel the entire night without a peep.(shes the first dog I've had that has done that so i was very excited) We're now working on down, sit, and stay. She loves to rip apart her toys and to eat ice cubes! I am so please with how smart and happy she is.  Her tail is always wagging and she loves to give kisses.  I can't thank you enough for allowing me to adopt such a great dog!
